The majority of the Atlantic 10 men's basketball championship has been moved up a week to March 3-6, the conference announced Friday.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the Atlantic 10 to be creative in scheduling and rescheduling throughout the regular season," commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade said in a statement. "Altering our championship dates provides additional time for our student-athletes, coaches, support staff, and institutions to adjust to additional COVID-19 protocols in preparation for the A-10 championships and postseason play."

Dayton will host the men's championship final March 14.

The A-10 also approved seeding and eligibility rules for the 2021 championship, including a stipulation that any team that plays less than 60% of the median number of games logged by all 14 teams is not eligible for the regular-season title.

The women's basketball championship is being postponed by a week to March 10-14.
