No. 2 Baylor is pausing team activities indefinitely due to COVID-19 protocols, head coach Scott Drew announced Saturday.

The Bears have postponed Sunday's showdown against No. 13 Texas and Tuesday's matchup vs. Tarleton State as a result. A decision on next Saturday's game against Kansas State has yet to be made.

"This is a disappointing time for everyone involved with our program, but we will always prioritize the health and safety of our student-athletes," Drew said in a statement. "The Big 12 Conference prepared for this possibility by leaving the final week of the regular season open, and we look forward to hosting Texas at a later date. Our program will return to competition as soon as we can do so safely."

Drew tested positive for COVID-19 last month and missed Baylor's first two contests during his 10-day quarantine period.

Top-ranked Gonzaga is also on pause through Dec. 14 after two people within the program tested positive for the coronavirus.
