Seton Hall starting forward Sandro Mamukelashvili will likely miss six-to-eight weeks after breaking his right wrist in the first half of Sunday's loss to Iowa State.
"They took an X-ray and it looked like he broke one of the bones," Pirates head coach Kevin Willard told AM970 The Answer postgame, according to Adam Zagoria of NJ Advance Media. "We won't know the extent of the timeline until we get back and get an MRI (Monday). But ... it's a broken wrist, so six-to-eight weeks we're looking at, probably."
The 6-foot-11 junior is a key member of the No. 16 Pirates, ranking second in scoring (10.9) and third in rebounding (4.7).
Mamukelashvili is also one of Seton Hall's better outside shooters, connecting on 43.5% of his attempts from distance.
Freshman Tyrese Samuel and junior Taurean Thompson are expected to fill in during Mamukelashvili's absence.
Seton Hall returns to action Saturday against Rutgers.
