The University of Connecticut upheld the dismissal of former men's basketball coach Kevin Ollie on Wednesday, and the school is pursuing the remaining $10 million on Ollie's contract through arbitration.

According to public documents obtained by the Hartford Courant's Don Amore and Dave Altimari, UConn asserts that Ollie committed multiple NCAA violations, leading to his firing for cause. Among them was a phone call the coach facilitated between an unnamed Huskies recruit and former UConn and NBA star Ray Allen.

Such contact with recruits is forbidden by NCAA rules, in part because Allen, despite being one of the most decorated players in UConn history, is considered a booster. Boosters are not allowed to speak with recruits.

Ollie, who was a UConn teammate of Allen's in the early 1990s, was fired by the school in March and replaced by Dan Hurley. Despite winning the 2014 national championship, Ollie compiled a 30-35 record over the past two seasons, missing the NCAA tournament both years.
