Competing for floor time as part of the Denver Nuggets' triumvirate of skilled young European big men (along with Jusuf Nurkic and Joffrey Lauvergne), 20-year-old rookie Nikola Jokic is doing his best to stand out.
When outstanding per-36-minute numbers (16.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists), highly efficient scoring (60.5 true shooting percentage, 21.1 PER), and staggering on/off splits (the Nuggets are 13.5 points per 100 possessions better with him on the floor) don't cut it, a little flash doesn't hurt.
Thursday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, Jokic followed up his own miss, then hoodwinked Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph by feinting baseline toward the left corner, before dropping a no-look, behind-the-back bounce pass to a wide-open Kenneth Faried under the basket.
Honestly, Gasol probably feels like he's seen enough of this Nuggets frontcourt by now.
