The Miami Heat are beyond banged up.
Losers of three straight games and seven of their last 10, the Heat are limping into their Friday night matchup against the Toronto Raptors down two starters and with the prospect of having just eight able bodies (the minimum a team is required to dress).
Ruled out for the contest are point guard Goran Dragic and center Hassan Whiteside, dealing with calf and oblique injuries, respectively. Dragic has missed the last five games with what's been diagnosed as a Grade 1 strain of his left calf, while Whiteside was injured midway through Wednesday's loss to the Washington Wizards (by the end of which Miami had just eight healthy players).
Meanwhile, Luol Deng is dealing with an eye injury he also picked up against the Wizards, Gerald Green and Josh McRoberts are battling knee soreness, Beno Udrih is nursing a neck strain that's cost him the last three games, and Dwyane Wade sat out Wednesday's game with two sore shoulders. All five are listed as questionable for Friday.
There was some speculation that Dragic might be able to return Friday, but it appears Tyler Johnson will get another start in his stead. The Heat have been outscored by an average of more than 13 points per game during Dragic's absence.
