The days of "Showtime" basketball at the Staples Center - with the likes of Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Cooper, and Byron Scott at the helm - are a thing of the past, with this generation's Los Angeles Lakers acting as more of a whipping boy than a must-see attraction.
There are times, though, when fans are treated to that run-and-gun style that became a hallmark of the franchise during the '80s. Unfortunately, that uptempo play usually comes from the opposition.
