After making a career out of getting under the skin of big men across the league, Kendrick Perkins is still a player in demand.
The Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, and New York Knicks are vying for Perkins' services for the 2015-16 season, ESPN's Royce Young reports.
Perkins was traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Utah Jazz at the trade deadline in February, and was subsequently waived. A few days later, the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired the 6-foot-10 center.
While Perkins' numbers have never jumped off the stat sheet - 5.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and one assist for his career - he's established himself as a tough interior presence (see: hard screens and six fouls to give).
The 30-year-old unrestricted free agent would likely come off the bench for the Rockets, Pelicans, or Knicks. However, the Knicks are in the midst of a rebuilding process that has them in need of role players at virtually every position.
Perkins played a total of three minutes in the 2015 Finals, chipping in two points and one rebound throughout the entire series.
