The Oklahoma City Thunder have been shopping secondary players like guard Jeremy Lamb and forwards Perry Jones and Steve Novak in the hopes of landing another pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, according to Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix.
The Thunder currently pick at No. 14 in the first round and No. 48 in the second. Both Lamb and Jones saw their minutes drop after moves such as the acquisition of Dion Waiters and the midseason three-way trade that landed the Thunder center Enes Kanter, small forward Kyle Singler, and point guard D.J. Augustin. Novak, who also arrived via that deal, only played 13 games for Oklahoma City.
The move to obtain another pick is likely financially motivated. The Thunder would like to keep Kanter and Singler, who are restricted free agents. Lamb and Jones are both 2012 first-round picks who took a step back statistically last season.
