ESPN's Marc Stein has reported that Chicago Bulls assistant coach Adrian Griffin will likely join Scott Skiles' Orlando Magic coaching staff.
Coach chatter: Signs keep pointing to Adrian Griffin landing on Scott Skiles' bench. Skiles also still holding Magic spot for James Borrego
— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 14, 2015
Griffin, 40, played for the Bulls on two different occasions (2004-05 and 2006-08). During these years, Skiles was the Bulls' head coach.
In August 2008, Griffin was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, where Skiles had recently taken over as bench boss. Shortly after being released from the team a few months later, Griffin accepted an assistant coaching position with the Bucks. He would support Skiles and his staff in Milwaukee for the next two seasons until moving over to Chicago's bench in 2010.
It now seems as if Griffin may reunite with his mentor once again.
On a separate but related note, Stein reports that Skiles is holding an assistant spot for former interim Magic head coach James Borrego. However, Borrego may consider joining the San Antonio Spurs with Jim Boylen accepting a position with the Bulls.
