Grizzlies guard Tony Allen says he's playing vs. Warriors
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Grizzlies guard Tony Allen started Game 6 on Friday night and managed to play all of 5 minutes before his injured left hamstring sent him to the bench against the Golden State Warriors.
Allen said after Friday morning's shootaround that he was at about 60 percent. But he tried to play with Memphis facing elimination. He hit one of three shots before going to the bench. He was limping noticeably when he came out for the second half and stayed on the bench.
He missed the final nine games of the season with a strained left hamstring before returning for the postseason. He has 24 steals in nine playoff games before sitting out Wednesday night's 98-78 loss to Golden State.
