Spurs' Belinelli steamed about flagrant foul from Bucks' Bayless
Marco Belinelli isn't typically the emotive type, so when he got into it with Jerryd Bayless during the Spurs' game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night, you knew Bayless had really gotten his goat.
Belinelli was still miffed after the game about the foul Bayless laid on him as he went up for a 3-point attempt in the fourth quarter, for which Bayless was assessed a flagrant 1.
"That was a really bad foul," Belinelli said, according to Dan McCarney of Spurs Nation. "This was my first time that I get fouled like that. I know competition is part of the game, but that was really bad."
Belinelli said he could sense Bayless was about to do something because he'd been jawing at Belinelli and accusing him of some sort of wrongdoing on several previous possessions.
"I knew it was coming, yes," Belinelli said. "That’s why I took the three. I think before, when I cut (off the ball) like I do always, he said I tried to break his elbow or something like that. I don’t know. That was a really bad foul."
Bayless reportedly described the situation as a misunderstanding, then bolted without taking any further questions.
