Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said last week he was open to the idea of spacing out the NBA schedule in a way that would extend the Finals into July.
Count San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich out.
Pop, on spacing out schedule at the cost of playing into July: "I will not come to work in July. If there's a game in July, count me out."

Popovich added that life is too short for even Game 7's in July, a month of the year a wine enthusiast such as himself would probably rather be in Napa.
Pop was in rare form Wednesday. The curmudgeonly coach also chimed in on NBA players participating for their respective countries in international competitions.
Pop, if he prefers FIBA to go back to amateur play: "I wish we didn't have cell phones and 3-point shots, but that's not going to happen."
