Collison (hip) met with a specialist Tuesday and his status remains uncertain going forward, the Sacramento Bee reports. "I think there's still discussions going on with doctors," coach George Karl said. "I think something will probably be known in the next couple of days. It's in the hands of interpretations and doctors."
Analysis:
Collison sat out his seventh straight game Wednesday as he continues to work back from a strained right hip flexor. He's yet to play since Karl took over the reins after the all-star break, but the coach said he's looking forward to getting Collison back in the fold. "His speed is the kind of point guard I like," Karl said. "I like the game to happen before the defense gets set. Ray (McCallum) can do that, but I think Darren is a little better than Ray, and when you have two, it's easier to play that way." McCallum has started the last three games in Collison's place after the Kings dealt Ramon Sessions to the Wizards. McCallum figures to remain the starter until Collison is able to return.
