Chase Budinger may soon be on the open market, as according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers are discussing a potential trade that would send Budinger to Philly, where he would then be bought out.
The rebuilding 76ers would also receive draft picks in such a deal, while Minnesota would be relieved of the burden that comes with Budinger's $5-million player option for next season.
Budinger is averaging 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in just under 15 minutes per game. While his overall shooting has been abysmal (43.9 Effective Field Goal percentage), he remains a respectable 3-point shooter, converting over 34 percent of his long-range attempts.
The 26-year-old has been slowed by knee injuries since a decent start to his NBA career in Houston, after being selected in the second round (44th overall) of the 2009 Draft.
