Owing to the right shoulder strain that will keep him out of Thursday night's marquee matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls shooting guard Jimmy Butler has withdrawn from the Skills Challenge on All-Star Saturday.
Butler will be replaced in the competition by Atlanta Hawks backup point guard Dennis Schroder, who will join Hawks starting point guard Jeff Teague and six other contestants.
Butler's status for Sunday's All-Star Game remains up in the air.
"If he can (play in the All-Star Game), he'll participate," coach Tom Thibodeau said Thursday. "I guess we have to wait 'til then ... hopefully (the shoulder injury) will be short-term."
