While the courtship of Carmelo Anthony has been one of two long, drawn-out, feels-like-it's-been-a-month-when-it's-really-just-been-a-week processes, you have to empathize with just how tough a decision he's facing.
In the next few days, Anthony will decide where he'll spend the next four or five years of his life, who he'll play with and, possibly, how much money he'll make. Those aren't easy life choices, and so it's hardly a surprise that Anthony is said to be having difficulty making the decision.

Carmelo Anthony is "torn" over where to spend the prime years of his career, according to a friend of the Knicks All Star forward.
Anthony, 30, is still debating his next move with the Knicks, Lakers and the Bulls as his top three choices, the source claims. Chicago is still in the running despite the fact that the Bulls, barring a sign-and-trade, cannot come close to matching the max deals the Knicks and Lakers offered Anthony last week.
With the Bulls, Anthony has the clearest path to immediate contention, pairing with Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Jimmy Butler and head coach Tom Thibodeau. But New York and Los Angeles are the two biggest markets in sports, and the former can offer more money than anyone else.
It comes down to whether Anthony wants to win now (Bulls), possibly win soon (Lakers, who have decent cap flexibility moving forward), or bet on money and Phil Jackson (Knicks). There's also the outside chance Chris Bosh could sign with the Houston Rockets, opening up a scenario whereby Anthony lands in Miami.
Anthony doesn't have a firm timeline established, though reports early in the process indicated that he didn't want to drag things out beyond the end of this week.
