Marcin Gortat: Signs With Wizards For $60 Million
Gortat has agreed to a five-year, $60 million contract to return to the Wizards, NBA.com reports.
Analysis:
The Wizards were able to offer Gortat more years and more money than any other team, so it doesn't come as a big surprise to see him back with Washington. He averaged 13.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 32.8 minutes per game, while shooting 54.2 percent from the field last season. Washington is in a situation where it makes the most sense to run it back with basically the same team as it had last season, and that would also require re-signing Trevor Ariza. After a somewhat disappointing 2012-13 season for Gortat, he came at a nice bargain for fantasy owners last season. Considering the team should look similar on paper, his 2014-15 numbers should also mirror his production from last season.
