The Philadelphia 76ers signed guard Anfernee Simons to a two-year, $12.3-million contract with a player option for the second season, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Simons received a more lucrative offer from the 76ers compared to those made by the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and Dallas Mavericks, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Simons split the previous campaign between the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls, averaging 14.3 points and shooting 38.5% from deep across 55 appearances.

Boston acquired Simons from the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Jrue Holiday ahead of the 2025-26 season. The 27-year-old thrived as the lead option for the Celtics' second unit, but the team ultimately sent him to the Bulls at the trade deadline in a deal for center Nikola Vucevic.

Simons played just six games for Chicago before being shut down with a fractured left wrist.

Portland selected Simons with the No. 24 overall pick in 2018. He spent his first seven seasons with the Trail Blazers and sits third on the franchise's all-time list for 3-point field goals.

He's a career 38.1% 3-point shooter and has finished in the NBA's top 20 for made threes on two occasions.

Simons should help a 76ers unit that finished 22nd in threes (12.3 per game), 23rd in 3-point percentage (34.9%), and 27th in bench scoring (32.4 points) last season.

Simons' addition comes on the heels of Philadelphia's stunning reported trade for Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

The 76ers are approximately $3 million below the first apron with 14 players under contract, per ESPN's Bobby Marks.
