San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama left Tuesday's Game 2 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers after hitting his face on the court in the second quarter.

Wembanyama was later diagnosed with a concussion, and will undergo further testing Wednesday, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

The 22-year-old attempted to spin around Trail Blazers guard Jrue Holiday but lost his balance, causing him to fall hard on his face as his head bounced off the court.

Wembanyama will have to go through a minimum 48-hour period of inactivity and then be symptom-free before he can be cleared to play again.

Game 3 of the series is set for Friday in Portland.

Wembanyama had five points, four rebounds, an assist, and a block in 12 minutes before exiting. The 22-year-old led Mitch Johnson's side with 35 points in its Game 1 win, going 13-of-21 from the field - including 5-of-6 from three - and setting a new franchise record for points in a playoff debut.

On Monday, the former first overall pick was named the Defensive Player of the Year, giving him a second piece of individual hardware in his young career following his 2023-24 Rookie of the Year campaign. Wembanyama is also a finalist for this year's MVP award alongside last year's winner, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and three-time recipient Nikola Jokic.
