Sacramento Kings forward De'Andre Hunter is out at least eight weeks after undergoing eye surgery Friday, the team announced.
The 28-year-old sustained the injury Feb. 6 against the Los Angeles Clippers and was later diagnosed with a retinal detachment in his left eye.
Hunter will miss the rest of the season, sources told NBA insiders Chris Haynes and Marc Stein. He'd be the third Kings player to be shut down for the campaign over the past week.
Domantas Sabonis had surgery Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, while Zach LaVine is reportedly set for a procedure on his right hand.
Sacramento acquired Hunter from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a three-team deal before the trade deadline.
The former No. 4 overall pick made just two appearances for the Kings, averaging 7.5 points on 21.1% shooting.
Hunter is under contract through the 2026-27 campaign.
Sacramento has a lost a franchise-record 15 games in a row and sits dead last in the Associaton.
