Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo won't participate in Sunday's All-Star Game as he recovers from a calf strain, the team announced Thursday.

Antetokounmpo has missed Milwaukee's last eight games and remains without an official timetable for return.

San Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox was named Antetokounmpo's injury replacement for the contest, marking the second All-Star selection of his career. Fox will join the USA Stripes squad, while Miami Heat guard Norman Powell, who represents Jamaica in international competition, will take Antetokounmpo's place on the World roster.

The Bucks said Antetokounmpo will be in Los Angeles to support his teammates on Team World in Sunday's mini-tournament. The international squad is still well-equipped with several healthy MVP-caliber All-Stars, including Victor Wembanyama, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic.
