The Cleveland Cavaliers have traded Lonzo Ball and a pair of second-round picks to the Utah Jazz, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Utah is expected to waive Ball after acquiring him, Charania reports.
The move opens up a roster spot for the Cavs and drops their projected luxury-tax bill from $120 million to $65 million, according to Bobby Marks of ESPN.
Cleveland acquired Ball from the Chicago Bulls during the offseason in exchange for forward Isaac Okoro.
Ball struggled during his brief time with the Cavs, averaging career lows in points (4.6) and field-goal percentage (30.1%).
In another move Wednesday, Utah sent center Jock Landale to the Atlanta Hawks for cash considerations, reports Charania, citing sources.
