Report: Wizards' Young to be re-evaluated after All-Star break
Trae Young's debut with the Washington Wizards is on hold.
The 27-year-old will be re-evaluated after the NBA's All-Star break as he's still recovering from an MCL sprain and quad contusion, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Young has missed the last eight games due to the two injuries. The reported timeline means he'll be sidelined for at least 15 more contests.
Washington acquired Young from the Atlanta Hawks last week in exchange for veteran guard CJ McCollum and forward Corey Kispert.
Young could enter free agency this summer but is widely expected to exercise his $49-million player option for 2026-27.
The Oklahoma product is averaging 19.3 points and 8.9 assists across 10 appearances this season. He earned four All-Star nods over eight campaigns with the Hawks.
Washington sits second-last in the East with a 10-28 record entering Wednesday's play.
