Morant reacts to Grizzlies trade rumors: 'Live with it'
Ja Morant addressed the media Wednesday for the first time since reports surfaced that the Memphis Grizzlies are entertaining trade offers for the two-time All-Star.
When asked about his reaction to the rumors, Morant just said he has to "live with it," according to The Athletic's Joe Vardon.
Morant also downplayed any friction with Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo. Their relationship has reportedly soured following a tense postgame exchange last December, when Morant apparently responded to Iisalo in a dismissive and inappropriate manner.
"He cool. I don't think we've had too many ups and downs," Morant said. "That's just y'all on the outside looking in thinking that."
Multiple teams have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring the talented guard, including the Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings. Memphis is said to be seeking a package that includes young players and draft picks.
Morant is averaging 19 points on a career-low 40.1% shooting. The former No. 2 overall pick will miss his sixth straight game Thursday due to a calf contusion.
The Grizzlies are 11-10 without Morant this season.
