Report: Giannis told teammates to ignore distractions amid trade rumors
Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn't want the rest of the Milwaukee Bucks preoccupied with his future.
The Bucks star recently spoke to some of his teammates and told them not to be distracted amid rumors surrounding his future with the franchise, sources told Chris Haynes of Prime Video.
Antetokounmpo, who's currently out with a strained right calf, reportedly told fellow Bucks players that he intends to return from his injury but can't control whether his name features in rumors before then.
The 31-year-old was injured in the first quarter of the Bucks' 113-109 victory Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons. Hours earlier, it was reported that he and his agent had begun discussions with the franchise about whether the two-time MVP should stay in Milwaukee.
The Bucks have gone 0-2 without Antetokounmpo in the lineup and are now 1-7 this season when the nine-time All-Star doesn't play. They're currently 10th in the East at 10-15.
