The Sacramento Kings agreed to a deal with Russell Westbrook, the guard's agent told ESPN's Shams Charania on Wednesday.

Westbrook, a nine-time All-Star and former MVP, will officially sign the one-year, veteran's minimum deal Thursday, a source told ESPN 1320's James Ham. Once finalized, the California native will join his seventh franchise ahead of his 18th NBA season.

The 36-year-old spent the 2024-25 campaign with the Denver Nuggets, averaging 13.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds while starting in 36 of 75 appearances.

Westbrook had long been linked to Sacramento, which didn't have another veteran point guard on the roster behind fellow offseason addition Dennis Schroder. They'll be teammates for the third time; they were both on the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2018-19 season before briefly reuniting on the Los Angeles Lakers in 2022-23. Westbrook was traded to (and subsequently bought out by) the Utah Jazz after 52 games with the Lakers.

The UCLA product also played with Kings center Domantas Sabonis on the Thunder during the Lithuanian's rookie season in 2016-17. Westbrook was named MVP that year after averaging a triple-double of 31.6 points, 10.4 assists, and 10.7 rebounds in 81 games and leading Oklahoma City to a playoff berth following Kevin Durant's departure to the Golden State Warriors.
