Cowboys' Lamb: Mavs 'killed the city' by trading Doncic
Like many people in the sports world, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was in disbelief after learning about the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in early February.
Lamb shared his thoughts on the Mavericks' decision to part ways with Doncic in a video posted on streamer N3on's YouTube channel Wednesday, saying the move "killed" Dallas.
"I ain't gonna lie, they killed the city with that one," Lamb said. "I wasn't even expecting that. I don't even know what time that happened, but I remember where I was when I saw it, and I thought it was fake. 'Cause I saw it on a tweet and it didn't have ... it was just a tweet, just the words."
Doncic, the No. 3 overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft, had spent his entire seven-year career in Dallas prior to being dealt in early February. The trade was met with backlash from Mavs fans and reportedly led to general manager Nico Harrison receiving death threats.
Lamb will enter his sixth season with the Cowboys this year and is under contract through 2028.
