Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to remove a cartilage fragment in his left knee, the team announced Tuesday.

The Magic initially ruled Suggs out indefinitely. The fourth-year guard got hurt while rehabbing from a quad injury.

Suggs is expected to make a full recovery.

The former fifth overall pick was productive when available, averaging a career-high 16.2 points, four boards, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals across 35 appearances in 2024-25.

Suggs has been an important part of the Magic's defense over the past two campaigns. Orlando allowed 5.3 fewer points per 100 possessions when Suggs was on the floor this season.

Cole Anthony has started the Magic's last 11 games at the point, tallying 10.5 points and three assists per contest to go along with a 45.5% clip from deep.

Orlando sits eighth in the East with a 29-33 record entering Tuesday's action.
