Raptors convert Battle's 2-way contract to 3-year deal

The Toronto Raptors converted Jamison Battle's contract from a two-way deal to a standard NBA pact, the team announced Friday.

Battle's new contract is a three-year deal, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

The Ohio State product is averaging 5.4 points on 12.6 minutes per game but has shown flashes of talent as a rookie. He scored a career-high 24 points Nov. 27 in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans, going 6-of-8 from three in just over 22 minutes as part of a 9-of-11 shooting performance.

He's appeared in 35 regular-season games with Toronto; players on two-way contracts can be active for a maximum of 50 games.

Battle initially joined the Raptors for the 2024 Summer League after going undrafted, and the team promoted him to a two-way deal shortly before the start of the season.

Toronto can slide Battle into one of its two open spots on the main roster. The move also opens up a third two-way slot, with Ulrich Chomche and AJ Lawson occupying the other two.
