Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes left Monday's 113-108 loss to the New York Knicks in the third quarter and did not return.

The 23-year-old sustained a right ankle sprain, the team announced, per theScore's Joseph Casciaro.

Barnes was hurt midway through the third quarter after landing awkwardly on Karl-Anthony Towns' foot. He remained on the floor for several moments before hopping on one foot to the locker room.

The Florida State product received X-rays on the injured ankle, which came back negative, and will be re-evaluated Tuesday.

Barnes had 15 points, five rebounds, and three dimes at the time of his departure.

He missed 11 games earlier this season with a right orbital fracture, during which time the Raptors went 2-9.

Barnes has been productive when healthy, averaging 21 points, 8.7 boards, 7.8 assists, and 1.4 steals across 13 appearances.

The Raptors fall to 7-18 with the defeat. They'll take on the Miami Heat on Thursday.
