Report: T-Wolves executive VP Gupta joining Chelsea
Sachin Gupta, the Minnesota Timberwolves' executive vice president of basketball operations, is leaving the franchise for football club Chelsea, according to The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski and Liam Twomey.
Gupta has spent five seasons with the T-Wolves' front office, including one campaign as the interim general manager of the organization. He also worked with the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons over 18 years in the NBA.
The 42-year-old helped the Timberwolves build a large analytics staff under Gersson Rosas, the previous president of basketball operations, and current executive Tim Connelly.
Minnesota made the playoffs the last three seasons and reached the Western Conference finals in the last campaign.
Chelsea sits eighth in Premier League table with seven points in four matches. The Blues face West Ham United in an away contest on Saturday.
