The New York Knicks signed veteran guard Cameron Payne, the team announced Monday.
Payne agreed to a one-year, $3.1-million contract with New York, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Payne gives the Knicks an experienced backup behind All-Star guard Jalen Brunson.
The 29-year-old split the 2023-24 campaign between the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 7.4 points and shooting 39% from beyond the arc.
Payne enjoyed his best success across parts of four seasons with the Phoenix Suns, playing a key role off the bench during the franchise's run to the 2021 Finals.
New York's reserves ranked 27th in scoring last season.
The Knicks are having a busy offseason after falling just one win short of the East finals.
They added Mikal Bridges in a blockbuster deal with the Brooklyn Nets, inked Jalen Brunson to a long-term contract extension, and re-signed defensive stopper OG Anunoby.
