Klay Thompson's departure from the Golden State Warriors still hasn't sunk in for Draymond Green.

In an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, Green admitted he hasn't allowed himself to come to terms with Thompson joining the Dallas Mavericks yet, but is happy for his former teammate.

"It's a classic tale of suppressing your emotions right now," Green said. "I haven't allowed myself to really process it. I don't want to. I feel like I'll face it when I have to face it.

"But nonetheless, I'm happy for Klay. Happy he gets the opportunity to play basketball at a high level and get back to feeling like Klay. So I'm looking forward to that, and I think he gonna have a really big year and he gonna show people he still got a lot left in the tank."

Green and Thompson had been teammates on the Warriors since 2012 and won four NBA championships together.

The Mavs acquired Thompson on July 6 as part of a multi-team sign-and-trade, ending his 13-year tenure with the Warriors.
