Edwards takes blame for Game 3 loss: 'That's on me'

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was candid about his performance after the Timberwolves' 117-90 Game 3 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

"That's on me. I'll take the blame for this loss, I came out with no energy at all," Edwards told reporters postgame, per SportsCenter.

The 22-year-old managed just 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting. In Minnesota's two wins, Edwards was the game's leading scorer, dropping 43 and 27 points. His performance in those contests was so good that he drew comparisons to Michael Jordan - comparisons he later quelled.

Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert returned to the court after missing Game 2 due to the birth of his child. Gobert struggled to maintain Denver's penetration and only managed six points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field.

Despite the 27-point loss, Edwards still has a positive outlook on the series.

"There's no reason to be negative. They won one game, we're gonna try to win the next game. It's the first to four games, it's not the first to one," he said, according to Dane Moore of The Dane Moore NBA Podcast.

The Timberwolves lead the series 2-1, with the next matchup slated for Sunday.
