Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac will miss at least four weeks due to a calf strain, the team announced Tuesday, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Zubac was treated for discomfort in his right calf following last Friday's contest against the Memphis Grizzlies. He then missed the Clippers' most recent game Sunday versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Zubac has been a key part of Los Angeles' success, averaging a career-high 12.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks over 38 appearances. The 7-footer ranks fifth in the NBA in offensive-rebound percentage (12.9%), sixth in contested shots (379), and 10th in effective field-goal percentage (65.5).
Veteran big men Daniel Theis and Mason Plumlee will likely split Zubac's minutes at the five during his absence.
The Clippers acquired Zubac from the Los Angeles Lakers in February 2019. He's started 318 of 360 games since joining the club.
Zubac is in the second year of a three-year, $32.8-million contract extension.
