Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown was ejected in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 143-142 overtime loss to the Milwaukee Bucks after getting into a verbal altercation with an official.

A non-call on Bucks veteran Cameron Payne led to a turnover from Kings star De'Aaron Fox and appeared to set off Brown.

The Sacramento bench boss elaborated on his actions during his postgame press conference, using a laptop to provide clips of decisions with which he disagreed.

The 53-year-old was specifically irritated by the inconsistency of the calls throughout the contest.

"The referees are human and they're gonna make mistakes," Brown said, per The Athletic's Anthony Slater. "But you just hope, A, there's some sort of consistency, B, there's some sort of communication between the refs. And the refs tonight, they were great. They communicated with me all night."

Brown added: "If you get communication and you get a form of consistency in the game, then you can live with some things. But the consistency that I saw tonight wasn't in my opinion there."

Brown also came to the defense of star center Domantas Sabonis, who's been frequently assessed with fouls over the campaign for not having both arms raised when playing vertical defense.

"A simple, basic rule of going vertical. I'm getting told two different things," Brown said. "And that is really inconsistent overall from the officials ... We can't interpret a rule two different ways."
