KD: Playing with Westbrook, Harden was 'a special, special time'

Kevin Durant still holds a special place in his heart for his early days with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Suns star reflected on his time spent playing alongside former Thunder teammates Russell Westbrook and James Harden following Phoenix's 138-111 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.

"We're never gonna forget those moments we shared coming into the league," Durant said. "Because I feel like a lot of teams and a lot of franchises in sports looked at that young team, and that's something to emulate. ... It was a special time for me.

"I don't know how everybody else feels about that time, but it was a special, special time that I always pull back from. I always loved playing with those guys, so it's good to see them have some success and still be in the league at 16, 15, 17 years in the league."

Durant, Westbrook, and Harden were teammates in Oklahoma City from 2009-2012, helping the Thunder reach the NBA Finals during their final season together.

Harden reunited with Westbrook in Houston for the 2019-2020 campaign and later joined Durant in Brooklyn, where he spent parts of two seasons with the Nets. Westbrook and Harden reunited again earlier this season when the latter was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Clippers.
