Curry on Warriors' slump: 'We all got to look at ourselves in the mirror'

Stephen Curry didn't sugarcoat things after the Golden State Warriors blew a 24-point lead to the Sacramento Kings and dropped their eighth game in 10 contests.

"It's going to be tough to swallow just because we should have won that game," Curry told reporters Tuesday following the Warriors' 124-123 defeat. "We played well enough to win for 40 minutes, and knowing the stretch we've been on, we were really motivated ... I think we all got to look at ourselves in the mirror and figure out what we individually can do better.

"In those deciding moments of a game, better decisions, better discipline to not foul. All the little things that we know impacts winning. That's the only way we're gonna get out of this little funk where you're playing hard and you have nothing to show for it.

Golden State needed to win by at least 12 points to earn an In-Season Tournament quarterfinal berth. They entered the fourth quarter up nine points but were outscored 29-19 over the final frame.

The Warriors committed a pair of turnovers in the last three minutes, including a miscue from Draymond Green that led to Malik Monk's game-winning basket on the next possession.

Golden State had 20 turnovers and gave up 26 points off those blunders. Only the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons have tallied more turnovers this season.

Despite the Warriors' latest setback, Klay Thompson remains optimistic about the club's chances to compete this season.

"We're going home with an opportunity to right the ship," Thompson said postgame. "I still have whole-hearted belief in this team that we can do some special things. And I know we will."
