New Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. expressed his interest in keeping Jordan Poole at his introductory press conference Monday.

"With his contract extension, we're planning on having him here for four more years at least," Dunleavy said, according to The Athletic's Anthony Slater.

Poole signed a four-year, $140-million extension last October after a career-best third campaign. Yet the 24-year-old's field-goal and 3-point percentages last season dipped to 43% and 33.6%, respectively, even though he averaged 20.4 points per game.

Poole's numbers were even worse in the postseason, as he averaged 10.3 points on 34.1% field-goal shooting in 13 contests.

However, Dunleavy said the organization loves having Poole and fellow youngster Jonathan Kuminga.

"Both of those guys are really good young players that we're pleased with, they have great value around the league," Dunleavy said.

The new GM also believes Kuminga needs more playing time this season.

"It's on all of our shoulders to figure out how we get him in the game more," Dunleavy said. "It's on Jonathan's shoulders to improve and make the right adjustments to his game, as well as our front office and coaching staff to figure out what works."

Kuminga's playing time fluctuated despite appearing in 67 games last season. He averaged 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.

Dunleavy took over as GM after longtime Warriors executive Bob Myers stepped down in May.
