Dinwiddie renews beef with Kuzma after Wizards miss playoffs

Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has revived an old beef with one-time Washington Wizards teammate Kyle Kuzma.

Dinwiddie questioned Kuzma's priorities as a player Wednesday during an appearance on FanDuel TV's "Run It Back" after the Wizards missed the playoffs.

"I'm in the playoffs, he's not," Dinwiddie said. "There's a lot of guys in the NBA that really pour their heart and soul into basketball, are willing to do whatever it takes to win. There are a lot of guys that have different things that drive and motivate them. I think if we look at him and the way he approaches life, fame, all that stuff, we can see that his priorities tend to vary."

Kuzma and Dinwiddie's beef stems back to Jan. 24. While with the Mavericks, Dinwiddie seemingly took a shot at the Wizards after Washington beat Dallas 127-126. The Wizards forward then poked fun at the Mavs' style of play.

Additionally, Dinwiddie doubted Kuzma's status as a star Wednesday because the Los Angeles Lakers included him in a trade package for former MVP Russell Westbrook in 2021.

"You know that you're (Kumza) there to shoot shots to probably get a contract," Dinwiddie added. "You're probably not even a third star really on a good team, because if you were, the Lakers would have kept you."

Kuzma responded to Dinwiddie with a lengthy Twitter thread. The Wizards forward critiqued Dinwiddie's talent, the fact that he's played for three teams since 2021, and his on-court struggles when they both played for Washington.

"I'm usually unbothered (about) things on the internet, but I will not allow this delusional guy to continue to talk about my teammates and I," Kuzma added.

Dinwiddie joined the Nets in February after a blockbuster trade for superstar guard Kyrie Irving. Brooklyn is in the playoffs as the East's sixth seed, while Washington has missed the postseason in back-to-back years.
