Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant is progressing toward a potential return Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, barring any setback, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Durant has missed the Suns' last seven contests after sustaining an ankle sprain during pregame warmups on March 8 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Phoenix has gone 2-5 during Durant's absence. The two-time Finals MVP has yet to suit up for a home game since being acquired from the Brooklyn Nets ahead of the trade deadline.

Durant averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 boards, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks through his first three appearances for the Suns. The club's offense looked impressive with the 13-time All-Star on the floor, posting 128.4 points per 100 possessions.

Phoenix sits fourth in the West but holds just a two-game lead on the seventh-seeded T-Wolves. The Suns have 10 regular season contests remaining, including this evening's matchup against the Sacramento Kings.
