Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic did not return to Thursday's 111-106 win against the New Orleans Pelicans after the team announced he sustained a heel contusion in the third quarter.

Doncic took a hard fall in the third after driving against Jonas Valanciunas and Brandon Ingram in the paint. Doncic attempted to score around Valanciunas, but Ingram managed to get his hand on the ball, knocking the Mavericks guard off balance and sending him careening to the floor.

The 23-year-old remained in the game temporarily but eventually made his way to the locker room in discomfort.

Before leaving Thursday, Doncic had scored 31 points on 12-of-19 shooting in 23 minutes before the injury. He also recorded eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals with the Mavericks up by 26 at the time.
