Detroit Pistons forward Marvin Bagley III will be out for three-to-four weeks after an MRI revealed a sprained MCL and bone bruise in his right knee, the team announced.
Bagley left Tuesday's preseason exhibition against the Oklahoma City Thunder less than a minute in after an awkward slip while defending the lane. He immediately clutched his right knee in pain and was helped to the locker room.

The 23-year-old was partaking in his first preseason with Detroit following his midseason trade from the Sacramento Kings. He appeared in 18 games with the Pistons last season, making eight starts, and averaged 14.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.
He signed a three-year, $37.5-million contract in free agency to remain in Detroit.
The Pistons open their 2022-23 season Oct. 19 against the Orlando Magic.
