Memphis Grizzlies big man Jaren Jackson Jr. is expected to miss four-to-six months after undergoing surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right foot, the team announced.

Jackson is expected to make a full recovery.

Memphis selected the Michigan State product fourth overall in 2018. Jackson struggled with injuries throughout his first three campaigns but arguably had his strongest season yet in 2021-22.

He averaged 16.3 points, 5.8. boards, and a league-leading 2.3 blocks over 78 appearances last season. The 22-year-old also finished fifth in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

The Grizzlies rewarded Jackson with a four-year, $105-million contract extension last October.
