The Golden State Warriors selected UW-Milwaukee forward Patrick Baldwin Jr. with the 28th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft.

Baldwin entered the draft following one year with the Panthers and after the school fired his father as the head coach. Baldwin went to UW-Milwaukee as a five-star recruit to play for his dad. He missed a chunk of the season with injuries and finished the campaign averaging 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in 11 appearances, shooting 34.4% from the field, 26.6% from deep, and 74.3% from the foul line.

The Warriors drafted Baldwin a year after selecting Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody with lottery picks. The two youngsters played supporting roles for a Golden State squad that won its fourth NBA championship in the last eight seasons.

Golden State is heading into the offseason with only eight other players under contract for 2022-23, according to Spotrac.
