Denver Nuggets forward Jeff Green has picked up his $4.5-million player option for 2022-23, sources told ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
Green, 35, will bypass free agency this summer with the move, electing to hit the open market in 2023 instead.
The veteran journeyman started in 63 of his 75 appearances for Denver last season, putting up 10.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists on 24.7 minutes per game. He was part of the Nuggets' most frequent starting five alongside Will Barton, Aaron Gordon, Monte Morris, and two-time reigning MVP Nikola Jokic. The quintet started 39 games together, going 25-14 in those contests.
The 2022-23 campaign will be the 15th of Green's lengthy career, during which he's played for 11 different franchises.
