Bucks draft MarJon Beauchamp with No. 24 pick
With the No. 24 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks selected G League Ignite wing MarJon Beauchamp.
Beauchamp's path to the NBA has been anything but ordinary. The former four-star recruit declined offers from numerous high-level college programs to prepare for the 2021 draft. In August 2019, Beauchamp signed with Chameleon BX - a year-long personalized training program in San Francisco for prospects - but left after eight months due to COVID-19 restrictions in the Bay Area.
He subsequently enrolled at a junior college in his hometown, averaging 30.7 points during the pandemic-shortened campaign. Beauchamp signed with the G League Ignite last August and re-emerged onto the NBA radar with his strong two-way play.
Beauchamp regularly stuffed the box score during the 2021-22 season, posting 15.1 points, 7.3 boards, 2.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per contest. Whether it was crashing the glass or hounding the opposing point guard, he showed a willingness to do whatever was asked of him.
