Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry claimed the Magic Johnson Award, given to the Most Valuable Player of the Western Conference finals, following his team's five-game series victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Curry becomes the first recipient of the trophy after the league announced the award earlier this season. The trophy for the Eastern Conference finals MVP is named after Larry Bird.

The two-time regular season MVP played a dominant all-around game against Dallas, averaging 23.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists while shooting 44% from beyond the arc across the series.

The 34-year-old will look to carry his trophy-winning momentum into the final round of the postseason and claim his first Finals MVP after failing to pick up the honor during Golden State's three previous title runs.
