Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic plans to sign a five-year, $260-million super-max extension when the team offers those terms in July, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania and Sam Amick.
Jokic's brothers reportedly recently met with the Nuggets' brass to discuss the team's outlook and both sides emerged on the same page.
The MVP said in April that he would accept the super-max contract if Denver offered it because he likes the organization, according to Amick.
However, the Nuggets' front office experienced a major shakeup this week as former president Tim Connelly left to become the Minnesota Timberwolves' new president of basketball operations.
Jokic is coming off of his second consecutive MVP season. The 27-year-old averaged 27.1 points, 7.9 assists, and 13.8 rebounds. The Nuggets went 48-34 but were eliminated in the first round of the postseason by the Golden State Warriors.
